Mid Year Writing Goals Check In

So now that's it's July (which I still can't get over, it feels like January was yesterday), and it's officially been half a year, I thought it would be good to do an update on my 2019 writing goals. I had 8 main writing goals regarding all my writing projects that acted as my outline for this year. I also had a few bonus goals which I'll talk about to.
I will be going over each goal and whether or not I've completed it and what progress I've made or intend to make soon. So here we go:
1) Finish My Rewrite of RoA #1
If you didn't know, RoA or the Rise of Azria series is my main writing project and the series I intend to publish first one day. If you want more information, check out my WIP page. I intend to do a full blog post regarding this one so look forward to that, but for now I can say I've made some progress... but also not a lot because I've been BUSY. By "some" progress, I mean about 7000 words as I'm writing this *wince*. I've only recently restarted it last month and am currently tackling it this month for Camp Nanowrimo. My goal for this summer is 50,000 words which will be about halfway through the book.
2) Finish Prophet of the Gods
This is my Wattpad WIP which you can find here. I've been posting once a week (with a long hiatus in the middle and a few missed weeks) and am currently 18/29ths of the way through as in I've posted 18 chapters of an outlined 29. That's more than halfway through and for half a year, I'd say that's pretty darn good. I'm not too worried about this one. I'm having fun writing it even though it's very loosely outlined and planned out.
3) Revise RoA #1
As I'm not yet finished with drafting RoA #1, there is no way I can possibly revise it so this one is definitely NOT DONE. I do intend to start that immediately after finishing drafting hopefully by November-ish if not October (my ideal goal).
4) Outline RoA #2
Again, as I've not finished #1, there's no way I can properly outline the sequel but it is in the plans for the rest of this year.
5) Outline Prophet of the Gods #2
This is actually me completely contradicting my last statement because even though I haven't finished #1, I have actually outlined book 2... Such a hypocrite, I apologize. It's a very loose outline but I had ideas and I needed to get them down. I am a fan of where book 2 is going to take the story though and though it'll change in the future once I finish book 1 because the story is going to change from where I originally outlined it.
6) Participate in Camp Nanowrimo
This one if funny because I currently AM participating in Camp Nanowrimo, the July session, and am going strong so far (I'm 3 days ahead, whoo hoo). My goal is 40,000 instead of the usual 50,000 but it's more realistic for me because I'm traveling quite a bit this month unfortunately (but also fortunately because traveling is fun).
7) Participate in Nanowrimo 2019 in November
Welp, I can't quite finish this one until it's actually November so nope this one is not finished. I have every intention of participating though!
8) Flesh out a Novel Idea
I actually have two potential ideas so far but they're very loose and vague and I have to do a lot more work on both (or just one) of them before I can deem it fleshed out enough. I'm halfway there though so that's good.
Now for the bonus ones I had:
-Re-Outline Foresters
I ACTUALLY DID THIS. I did this in March or April I believe (I don't quite remember) and I did it all in one day because inspiration struck. I'm actually really eager to return to this project and these characters because I love them a lot.
-Enter a Writing Contest
I DID THIS ONE TOO. I didn't win, but I ENTERED ONE.
-Write a short story
I have not done this. I haven't even thought about this. I kind of forgot this was a goal to be completely honest.
Overall I've fully completed 2/8 of the main goals and have made progress on 5/8 (which was my goal for the entire year!!) total so I think that's pretty decent. If you count the 3 extra, I've fully completed 4/11 and have made progress/completed 7/11 of all the goals. I think that's pretty good.
As for any goals I'd like to add:
-Enter another writing contest? Maybe a short story contest.
-Read a book on writing (craft books are always helpful).
I also just want to focus on keeping up with writing and writing as much as I can over the next six months. I want to complete at least 9/14 of the total goals and make progress on 11/14. That may be a little too ambitious since a lot of things are going to be changing in the next half year but we'll see. I have hope.
Until next time,
no mourners, no funerals,
-SureenaWrites.
