We're just going to pretend that the date says July 31st instead of August 3rd because I was too busy recovering from a family trip (by reading fanfiction and laying in bed all day whoops) that I forgot it was the end of the month and that I am due for another music post. But it's here now, better late than never.
This month has been crazy and random and busy but it's also been so so fun and filled with friends, family, and adventures and traveling. Due to that, this playlist is one of the most random I'd say- as in there's a variety of different songs from artists new to me or ones that I never thought I'd be into but am?
So without further ado, here's 15 songs from July:
Disclaimer: I'm reverting back to an early format of these things where I only gave short descriptions or thoughts about each song because unfortunately, I have a time limit for right now.
1) Fallingforyou by the 1975
Aka the discovery and the beginning of my love for the 1975, a band that I've heard of multiple times but have never actually taken the time to listen to until this day.
2) Somebody Else by the 1975 (beginning to fall in love)
3) Girls by the 1975 (in love)
4) Hooked on a Feeling by Bjorn Skifs ft. Blabus
This one was introduced to me on a friend on a trip and became the soundtrack to that entire week along with the classic History by One Direction (which is technically a bonus but everyone already knew I loved this song so not really) which fits that group of friends really well.
5) History Maker by Dean Fujioka
Aka the theme song to the wonderful anime: Yuri on Ice (thank you to one of my best friends for forcing me to watch this because I'm in love). Three words: gay ice skating.
6) Everybody Talks by Neon Trees
All the credit for this goes to my twin sister (yeah I have a twin) who wouldn't stop singing this song for three weeks straight and now we have this inside joke with our little cousin where we sing the intro (complete with the ahhhs and the coughing) spontaneously at random times and maybe now our parents are concerned about her throats. Fun times.
7) Only Human by the Jonas Brothers
I heard this one on the radio and tested Shazam for the first time to figure out what it was (well my sister did but same thing) and I shouldn't have been surprised to see it was the JoBros.
8) Senorita by Shawn Mendes ft Camila Cabello
The love for this song is magnified now that their relationship is confirmed :) Also love to listen to him because I didn't get to see him in concert (not bitter at all).
9) Talk by Khalid
This one isn't anything new. I've liked it since it came out but especially recently it's been stuck in my head. It's a bop, what can I say.
10) Good Things Fall Apart (with Jon Bellion) by ILLENIUM
Another one that's thanks to my sister (stop singing all day long you're increasing my spotify playlists at an unsatisfyingly fast rate that's making me feel cluttered and confused).
11) Easier by 5SOS
Do I even need to explain? Every song they write is fantastic. They're one of my favorite bands.
12) Would You Mind by PRETTYMUCH
Another X Factor boy band, do I have a type? Probably.
13) Tell Me by Spencer Sutherland
I actually found this song months ago via the Youtube recommended section of all places (to be fair, I've found many great things there notably the #LouisandRichard music video that started off the crazy descent into One Direction obsession that has become my life for the past few months and probably will be for the rest of my life (I'm okay with that) (I also banned myself from mentioning 1D in these posts for a while but I just broke it whoops) (broke it twice actually) (#noregrets).
14) Sit Still, Look Pretty by DAYA
Another twin song, as you can see most of my music comes from somewhere.
15) La Vie En Rose by Daniela Andrade
I've liked this song for ages but I've recently begun listening to it again thanks to another friend (and yes, my sister was the one who first introduced my to this song probably a year ago *sigh*)
BONUS: Doom Days by Bastille (love him).
Yeah so that was this month. It's been a random kind of month to encompass such an amazing few weeks (one of my favorite months this year, but really the last few years too). I'm not ready for this summer to end but at least I have music to get me through school, whoo hoo.
Also apologies for the abnormally shorter entry, I promise they'll be back to longer ones next month. I'm limited on time at the moment!
Until next time,
no mourners, no funerals
