Here it is: music of September, only six days late. Oops.
This month's list is also unfortunately a little shorter than normal due to me not finding as many good songs, and by that I mean not having enough time to discover new songs. It sucks to be busy with school.
But the 12 songs I do have are still wonderful and deserving of streams and love, so here we go:
1) Kill My Mind by Louis Tomlinson
I love Louis Tomlinson. And guess what? He's still underrated so EVERYONE STREAM HIS MUSIC. I'm also so proud of him for realizing his voice is literally perfect for the indie rock genre. I am ready for indie rock star content. Indie Louis is >>> I'll always love his previous non-indie songs as well but I'm just really excited for what's to come. Kill My Mind sounds like the soundtrack to a nostalgic 90's movie and I LOVE IT.
2) Ain’t Together by King Princess
King Princess is back and just as amazing as ever. Ain't Together is great and I also really enjoyed Prophet (bonus song I guess?)
3) Teeth by 5SOS
I'm seeing 5SOS in concert in December and it's going to be my first concert and I couldn't have picked a better first one (except maybe One Direction but that's besides the point). TEETH is also fantastic and I'm so ready for their next album and their new sound.
4) Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne
Whoever said Avril Lavigne is irrelevant is irrelevant. Avril Lavigne is a queen and this song was the soundtrack to the first few weeks of high school and now is an inside joke between new friends :)
5) What the Hell by Avril Lavigne
See above. There is no better song to randomly quote to friends during the school day than this one. "All my life I've been good, but now.... whoa-oh-oh I'm thinking what the hell?"
6) Mr. Brightside by the Killers :)
A British classic. If you think you've never heard this song before, think again! I was enlightened to the existence of this song by Louis Tomlinson's cover of it (an amazing cover by the way) in Madrid on September 14th.
7) Stack It Up by Liam Payne ft. a boogie wit da hoodie
I missed Liam and his music and I'm glad he's back. LP1 here we come!
8) Kathleen by Catfish and Bottlemen
I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of music that this band gives, thank you Louis Tomlinson for introducing me to them.
9) Electric Love by BORNS
Another classic.
10) Way It Goes by Hippo Campus
A friend recommended this band to me and I fell in love. If you like small indie bands, here you go.
11) Charlemagne by Blossoms
Found during one of the rare times I actually try to discover new music on Spotify. I was not disappointed.
12) dazed & confused by Ruel
Ruel has been someone I've been meaning to listen to but then a friend told me to listen to this song and I'm definitely on board with his type of music and his voice- HIS VOICE!!
Also, I'm really excited that a group of my friends are doing a "song of the day" group chat where we each have a day of the week and we recommend a song. I've already been getting some great recs which will definitely be making an appearance in next month's playlist post!
Remember, you can always follow me on Spotify for my music.
And that's all for this month's music. I hope you enjoyed despite the brevity of it. Next month's will hopefully be back on standard. Until then,
No mourners, no funerals,
