It's been a ridiculously long time since I've done a monthly music update and instead of just hopping back on the bandwagon and doing March music, I figured I wanted to do a wrap up of ALL the music (specifically albums) I've been loving since I last talked about music in November...

This may be a long entry because I've been listening to a LOT of music.

ALSO: For the month of April I've been participating in the 30 day song challenge on Instagram so at the end of the month I'll do a post summarizing that as well!

Anyway, back to the main point. We're starting with the big stuff aka ALBUMS and then I'll finish off with individual mentions :)

So here it is, all the music I've been loving in the past four months!

ALBUMS:

- Fine Line by Harry Styles (Dec 13th)

His sophomore album was a fricking masterpiece (and the whole world agrees)!! My favorite songs were Golden, Sunflower Vol. 6, Canyon Moon, and Fine Line but I love all of them so much!!! Well, okay, my feelings toward TPWK (despite its lovely message) and Cherry are slightly less than love but I still really like them! This man is a lyrical genius and his voice and creativity are also so emphasized on this album! I don't think I can choose between this album and self-titled for which is my favorite but I love this one with all my heart.

- Walls by Louis Tomlinson (Jan 31st)

Anyone who knows me knows I adore Louis Tomlinson (he's so underrated and it's so unfair) and obviously I adored his debut album. I loved the raw honesty and and emotions that were depicted in this album as well as they way Tomlinson effortlessly tells a story with every lyric he writes (he's so talented, god). My favorite songs were Only the Brave (1 minute and 46 seconds of pure heaven; love is only for the brave, hell yeah), Always You (pop perfection that we've been waiting for since 2017- it was worth every single day of anticipation), Defenceless (vulnerable, heartbreaking, beautiful, amazing), and Fearless (a grounded song about growing old and missing youth as well as recognizing that happiness is not bought with money or "success"). However, I loved all the songs and I'm praying my show isn't cancelled in July because I NEED to hear them all live.

- Dreamland by COIN (February 21st)

I love COIN with my whole heart and this album was fantastic, completely living up to its spectacular predecessor How Will You Know If You Never Try? This band is another smaller, underrated group (which I highly recommend) but all their tunes are big, bold, and so consistently incredible. My favorites from the album are I Want It All, Crash My Car, Youuu, and Let It All Out (10:05) but it was really hard to choose!! This band always brightens my day with their music and I'm so pleased with how the album turned out (and completely heartbroken I cannot see them along with one of my other favs, 5SOS in Europe- why cruel world, why?).

- Heartbreak Weather by Niall Horan (March 13th)

I think you're just going to have to tolerate my love for all the 1d members' solo music because it's true and it's not stopping anytime soon. Niall was actually the first 1d member whose solo music caught my eye (Slow Hands, This Town, and then when I actually listened to the album- FLICKER and SEEING BLIND made me fall head over heels). I was ecstatic for his sophomore album and I wasn't disappointed. He's matured so much between the two albums and it's AMAZING. My favorites are STILL (fricking love that song), Everywhere, San Francisco, and Put A Little Love On Me. And the title song was fantastic too! I love this album!!

- Kid Krow by Conan Gray (March 20th)

To be honest, though I always respected Conan Gray's music, I wouldn't have considered myself a stan. I loved him as a person and I loved Crush Culture but he didn't really catch my eye fully music-wise until I heard the banger that is Maniac. That's what ultimately propelled me into listening to his album and I LOVED it. My favorites are Maniac (one of the best pop songs I've ever head; reminds me of a Taylor Swift song but completely turned on its head in the best way possible- and I love Taylor Swift), Fight of Flight (the guitar in the background seduced me and I went gladly), and the nostalgic and sweet Little League. I loved all of them though. Conan's atmosphere and "vibe" (I hate using that word but you get the picture) is way more up my style than I ever anticipated and I'd gladly call myself a fan now.

- CALM by 5SOS (March 27th)

As I write this, there's lots of drama going on in the fandom (which I'm actively a part of) due to CALM not getting the #1 from Billboard that it deserved with 142,000 sales. I don't want to get too into it, but #billboardspeakup and give this band what they fricking deserve NOW! Anyway. This album was just as incredible as their previous three albums. This band makes me happier than you can ever imagine (and I'm so lucky I got to see them live in December- one of the best days of the entire year) and this album was so fricking good. My favorites were Lover of Mine, Red Desert, High, and Lonely Heart but I say this with a conflicted mind because I LITERALLY LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH (except Easier- unfortunately I've heard it too many times on the radio and it's a repeat of Youngblood for me)! I'm so proud of how far they've come and I literally love all four of them as if they were my friends/family even though they don't even know I exist. They deserve #1 and if I spend any more time talking about them, I'll probably burst into tears.

These were all albums that were released in the past few months but there were also a bunch of albums I discovered from previous years for the first time and LOVED.

I'm doing this quickfire because I'm getting lazy, oops.

- Melodrama by Lorde (2017)

This album was a pure masterpiece and I can now relate to that subsection of Twitter that just tweets about how much they miss Lorde all the time. Ma'am, please return to the music industry and save us please. This woman is such a talented singer (creativity wise and vocally). Liability and Homemade Dynamite and Sober II (Melodrama) are my top three.

- IGOR by Tyler, the Creator (2019)

It took me too long to finally listen to this album but I was blown away (as everyone else was, understandably). My favorites (if I had to choose) are A BOY IS A GUN* and GONE, GONE / THANK YOU. This guy is crazy talented and I don't even listen rap that often because it (usually) isn't my cup of tea but I really enjoyed this album and am interested in future endeavors from him.

These aren't albums but:

- Loser (ep) by Sasha Sloan (2018)

- Self Portrait (ep) by Sasha Sloan (2019)

I want to marry these songs. That is all. I fell in love with Sasha Sloan's music after listening to at least i look cool which I related to on a spiritual level and I quickly discovered that her other songs are just as good, highly recommend this artist (she's another underrated one).

And also, I've been loving some soundtracks from movies/tv shows, most notably:

- Lemonade Mouth by Lemonade Mouth (2011- 9 years ago!)

I love this movie so much, definitely in my top three DCOMs (disney channel original movies). And the music is so good, even years later! My favorites are Turn Up the Music, Somebody, Determinate, She's So Gone (I love Naomi Campbell with all my heart), and More Than A Band <3.

- High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (original soundtrack) by various artists (2020)

I didn't expect to love this tv show so much but I absolutely adored it (and I may get the Joshua Bassett hype now, we shall see). The show was just the right balance of drama and theater and I loved it. My favorite original songs were Wondering and I Think I Kinda You Know, but I also adored their version of Stick To The Status Quo! And Born to Be Brave was a bop too!

Now for some individual songs I fell in love with (not including any of the ones mentioned above, because obviously I loved those):

- Good Things Fall Apart by Jon Bellion ft ILLENIUM (I've mentioned this before but I rediscovered this song this past month and fell for it entirely again).

- Be My Mistake by the 1975 (Matt Healy with forever annoy me but I cannot help but be entranced by this band's music, especially this song = perfection).

- Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High? by the Arctic Monkeys (finally jumped the bandwagon and listened to their songs. I am not disappointed).

- Fluorescent Adolescent by Arctic Monkeys

- Start It Up by Alex Mali

- Prophet by King Princess

- Trouble by the New Respects

- Secret Love Song Pt. II by Little Mix (why'd it take me so long to listen to this song?)

- Love me Like You by Little Mix (I didn't realize this Tik Tok song was by Little Mix, my queens but of course they popped out this banger)

- Outer Space / Carry On by 5SOS

- It May Sound Strange by Spencer Sutherland

- Live Forever by Oasis

- All I Wanna Hear You Say by the Seagirls

- Buttercup by Hippo Campus

- You're Not the Only One by Sam Fender

- The Less I Know The Better by Tame Impala

- The Man by Taylor Swift

- Kill This Love by BLACKPINK (may have to get into k-pop after this banger)

- Kissing Other People by Lennon Stella (I saw her with 5SOS + the Chainsmokers in December).

- Remember by Liam Payne

- Let Me by ZAYN

- I Could Use a Love Song by Maren Morris

- Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond

- Don't Start Now by Dua Lipa

- for him. by Troye Sivan (I ADORE this song, but I don't know if I've mentioned it previously or not...)

- Make Me Your Queen by Declan McKenna

- Lonely Generation by Echosmith

- Moral Of The Story by Ashe (me and half of Tik Tok)

I highly recommend all these songs and artists and hopefully you've found someone new to check out and maybe fall in love with from this post (recommending an artist/band to someone and them loving it is the best feeling) so I hope that happens for whoever may happen upon this list and my blog.
